The 5th International Conference
of Small Museums took place last month in Viterbo (26th-27th september), Italy,
and attracted about 200 participants, including 21 speakers from Italy, Brazil
(Instituto Brasileiro de Museus, Ibram) and Slovenia (Regional Museum of Ptuj).
The topic of the meeting was:
"Pleasant museums: a new model for managing small museums".
It is the latest in the series of
seminars and conferences promoted by the National Association of Small Museums
- APM (Associazione Nazionale Piccoli Musei) as part of its commitment to this
specific area of research.
The conference was opened by APM
President, Giancarlo Dall'Ara.
The National Association of Small
Museums is the only european organization dedicated to museological research
about small museums, realizing a new vision of museums and their role in
society.
The conference proceedings volume
will be available in 2015.
The
next conference will be held in Massa Marittima, Tuscany, in september 2015.
